Bellevue Ranch is the only 100% local Ni Vanuatu owned and operated equestrian business in Vanuatu and offers trail riding, lessons and venue hire. Tom Nangam, owner of Bellevue Ranch is a man from the island of Tanna and has spent his whole life working with horses in Vanuatu. Bellevue Ranch horses have all been broken in and trained by Tom, who is know locally as the Vanuatu “horse whisperer”. Tom has a broad knowledge on all things equine related and has trained in Belgium, Australia and his home, Vanuatu.
All guides, and Tom’s two sons, Wayne and Kiwi all speak English and they offer a fantastic and informative riding experience. The trail rides go through beautiful rainforests and countryside only accessible through Bellevue Ranch. We cater for all age groups, 6 to 60+, with horses to suit everybody. There is a bar area for thirsty riders and club members and a beautiful outlook over Port Vila harbour where you can watch the sunset over the Pacific Ocean.
Our prices are the best in Vanuatu, and we have fantastic horses and true horsemanship. All tour prices include our friendly English speaking guides to ride with you, plus return transport to and from your hotel.
Leave Bellevue Ranch and cross over a small fresh water river to the rainforest on the ranch. Bellevue Ranch is a working cattle plantation of 400 heactares. Ride up to the highest peak and enjoy spectacular views of the harbour, then meander back through coconut groves under the clear Pacific sky. Local English and French Speaking guides provide a detailed explanation of the history, use of local plants, and trees and culture of Vanuatu along the way.
This is a late afternoon and evening ride to a spectular lookout with magnificient views over Port Vila Bay and the Pacific Ocean. Dismount and sit high above Port Vila Harbour, sip your choice of champagne, wine, or beer (included) and watch the golden sunset. Guides will look after the horses while you enjoy the moment. Return to the ClubHouse as the first stars appear in the night sky. Fabulous photo opportunities!
The tour leaves at 1pm for a ride among coconut plantations, past Momarte Catholic Mission School, and through an ancient forest to Lololima Waterfall. Have a refreshing swim, enjoy a picnic lunch (bring your own), and relax for an hour before returning back the same way to Bellevue Ranch. Here you can have a drink at the bar (additional cost) before being taken back to your hotel.
